Hello again,
Steffen, our programmer, is working very hard on our online therapy program. We've hit some snags, but I'm still hopeful that it will be up soon. If you would like to receive updates, e-mail me at shiloh@dichonics.com and put "Mailing List" in the subject line.
For all you tinnitus sufferers in Amarillo, give us a call if you would like to schedule an appointment or consult, 806-331-7898, or email me with any questions: shiloh@dichonics.com.
Dr. Ormson here in Amarillo will soon by conducting the initial diagnosis for our prospective patients. In the meantime, call us here at Dichonics and we'll do the intial workup. If you are more concerned with hearing loss than the ringing in your ears, you can call Dr. Ormson at 806-468-4343.
We still have the paper on our success with tinnitus reduction and a glowing recommendation from one of our patients. To view the report, Click here. To read about our patient's experience, click here.

Welcome to DICHONICS!
Dichonics uses psychophysics to manipulate the neurological routing of the central auditory processing system to suppress the negative neural output resulting in tinnitus. A complex parathreshold paradigm is used to take advantage of abnormal neural pathology. Hearing loss often causes physiological changes in the auditory nerve. Names such as tone decay and recruitment of loudness describe changes in the auditory system that can be clinically described and can be exploited to shift negative plasticity away from the point of inhibition. THIS IS NOT MASKING and no white noise or music is evident.
We have a 74% success rate in reducing the tinnitus on the first or second trial. Not every effort is successful in a single clinical visit and for those persons an aural rehabilitation process is employed (called TRT by others) to manipulate the negative brain plasticity thus reducing the tinnitus during the wearing of the training unit and for up to four hours after (based on clinic experiments). Our process is being confirmed by on-going Magnetoencephalography (MEG) studies.

Meg Scan Before and After Stimulus Presentation
This is a MEG scan of a tinnitus sufferer. Image A is the brain before the stimulus is presented. The large blue areas show the effects of the tinnitus. Image B is the brain as the stimulus is being presented. Note how the blue areas are reduced showing the change in the brain scan.
The chart above shows the percentages of our success rates and failures, as well as cases that fall in between. This data was collected from 62 patients, all treated within the last two years. Success is defined as complete cancelation or a reduction high enough for patient satisfaction.
